ok its my mom/g-ma/great g-ma VS a bunch of CafeMoms... : ) what do you think??

the women in my family with plenty of experience with teething babies say that during teething, babies can run a low grade fever, spit up more, and have diarrhea that sometimes burns their bottoms which can cause diaper rash/irritation....all due to teething...hard to argue with women who have been thru this repeatedly but i have heard otherwise from some of you on here when i asked another what do you think?????

  • My son did all of that when he was teething. So, I have to side with the older moms.
By the way, my pedi always said it had nothing to do with teething, but from my perspective it happened EVERY time he teethed, so if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck!

  • I think they just might be right, but not all babies go through the same.

  • So my LO is only 2 months old..but...i used to babysit for four different families all with teething kids (nightmare, i know!) Any ways, the ladies in your family are right, the only other thing is sometimes the got clingy, fussy or just tired...but every kid reacted a little differently. Some worse than others.

  • They can have any of those symptoms with teething, except i've not heard the diarrhea one. The most my daughter had had is drooling, sticking her fit in her mouth and being very cranky from it

Answer by Mom2Jack04 at 12:30 PM on Oct. 26, 2010

  • my pediatrician explained that during teething, all that drool and extra saliva being produced, and then swallowed, makes a baby's poop more acidic and thus causes rash.
