Healthy meals please...

I need healthy dinner meals that taste good my hubby needs to loose weight (he is at 300 pounds) and I'm 5'6 at 145 so I need to loose some as well. Help !! I was thinking veggie and chicken stir fry that's as far as I got. LOL

  • I substitute ground turkey (93/7) for ground beef in recipes.

  • I just use my gorege forman grill a lot and put lots of seasoning on my chicken and thats turns out pretty good.

  • yeah whatever sounds good to you season the meat with. I do like garlic so i usually use garlic and other things...or you can put chicken in a crock pot with a can of diced tomatoes and seasonings too, that is healthy.

  • I drink a lot of water & cranberry juice.
    I cook with canola & oliver oil. Lots of veggies with meals and as snacks.
    Bake or grill meat. Minimize portions of anything WHITE like rice, potatoes, pasta, and bread.
    You can use brown or wild rice, whole wheat versions of pasta & bread.
    Fish & Chicken breasts are good meat choices. Lean ground beef or ground turkey.
    Minimize salt, use more spices - garlic & onion powder (not salt), cheyenne pepper, dill, etc.

    You can make anything you would normally make w/ hamburger w/ the lean ground or turkey - meatballs, meatloaf, tacos, burritos, things like that.
    Stir fry is great because you can make so many varieties - side dishes like oven roasted potatoes seasoned w/ garlic, onion & dill.
    Bake/grill meat & saute or steam veggies.

  • Here's the few recipes!

    Lean/thin steaks, like carne asada ... cut into strips! Can also use chicken breasts instead.

    Put olive oil in a deep fry pan or wok .... add a little garlic & onion powder .. add meat & cook.
    Then add veggies of your choice and steam till cooked, but still crisp. Add a little more seasoning to taste.

    I use fresh mushrooms, cabbage, carrots, zuccini, yellow squash, celery, onions, bean sprouts, broccoli, cauliflour.
    This is great by itself, or with rice or whole wheat pasta.

    Cook lean ground beef or ground turkey
    1 can black beans or garbanzo
    Lettuce (any variety except iceberg)
    Tomatoes, Salsa, Avocado & Cheese

    In a bowl add lettuce, top with cheese, black beans, ground beef, tomatoes, avocado & salsa ( you can add sour cream or make guacamole - but use low fat or no fat sour cream)

  • Chicken, fish, lean pork and lean beef, turkey....all can be used. Substitute, spice things up with garlic, lemon, etc. Use 1/2 fat butter for can make ANY recipe "healthy" with a little research :)
