Thanksgiving and Christmas Recipe side dishes?

I'm looking for some new side dish recipes for the holidays. I make the same things each year. This Year I'd like to venture out from the Green Bean Casserole and Candied Yams. Any good recipes out there?

  • Butternut Squash casserole - cook squash, cut into cubes. Sautee leeks. Then layer casserole dish with squash, leeks, goat cheese. Pour in some heavy cream, top with hazelnuts and bake on 425 for 1/2 hour ( a little less if starting at room temp). also, it can be made up to a day in advance, just add cream prior to baking.. YUMMY!!

  • My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is Goat Cheese Cauliflower Gratin. I made it last year.. it was a huuuuge hit, sooo delicious. The recipe is on foodnetwork.com. I don't know if this is in it, but it's so much better with toasted sliced almonds on top.

  • This is a little different from your green bean casserole.. I take green beans and wrap bacon around them and put a toothpick thru it and bake them till the bacon is done. My family LOVES them, of course they never make it to the table.. lol.. IF you are interested pm me and i'll let you know how I put them together & what I put on them..
