I am looking for a good copycat recipe for Lawry's Seasoned salt. Anyone have one? Thanks!!!

  • tootoobusy.... uh here... let's think about this... maybe because she WANTS it?!

    I know there is a website and an author who does a lot of copycat recipies.... but I' not sure if that includes seasoned salts. Let me see if I can figure out who that is and I'll let you know. :)

  • The ingredient list on my bottle reads SALT, SUGAR, SPICES (INCLUDING PAPRIKA AND TURMERIC), ONION, CORNSTARCH, GARLIC, TRICALSIUM PHOSPHATE (PREVENTS CAKING), NATURAL FLAVOR, PAPRIKA OLEORESIN (FOR COLOR). CONTAINS NO M.S.G.

    There ya go, well over 2,000 results in under 1 second. Hopefully you find something there. I'm off to check out some of the hits myself, as we use Lawry's on a too-regular basis.

  • MSG free Copycat Lawry's Seasoned Salt

    2 Tablespoons salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    1/4 tsp. turmeric
    1/4 tsp. onion powder
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. cornstarch.

    Mix well and put into an empty spice bottle to store/use.

  • Here's another one:

    2/3 c. salt
    2 1/3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 Tbsp. celery salt
    2 Tbsp. paprika
    1 Tbsp. onion powder
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    2 tsp. ground turmeric
    1/2 tsp. ground mace
    1/2 tsp. ground oregano
    1/4 tsp. ground thyme
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/8 tsp. ground allspice
    1 pinch ground cinnamon

    Mix well.
