  • Public for the lower grades, we're reserving private for middle school and up. But, as always we SUPPLEMENT their education at home! We have never and will never leave the schools or our children 100% responsible for their education! Parents need to make sure their children are doing their homework, studying for tests, completing projects, and are LEARNING various concepts, or arranging for tutors to help--andn not leave it up to their children to become motivated.

As a teacher, I see WAY to many examples of parents depending on the schools to do all of the educating, and not following up, following through, motivating, or helping their children succeed!!

  • Not online or homeschool (it's not for me, might be for anyone else). I'd always prefer public school but would not hesitate to go private if needed.

  • We did both. Pre-school - grade 6, they went to a private school.  For middle school, and high school , they went public.  That's  what I had done, except I went private to grade 8.  It worked out fine for the 3 of us. But, I know we couldn't afford it, if they were school-age now.

  • I agree it depends where you live. Where I am located the public schools are just as good if not better than the private. When topics come up about bullying I love the thought of home schooling but I guess I need to teach my children how to deal with situations than hiding them from them. That is just my opinion.
