How often should I bathe my 1 month old?

I don't want to do too much, but I also don't want him sitting in his own filth. ;)

  • Since my son was 2 weeks old I have given him a bath every night, he is now 6 months. He never has had cradle cap or dry skin from doing it either. It is a great bedtime routine to get into. My son started sleeping thru the night after 1 week of doing this. What I do is fill hi baby tub with water, then I fill a large bowl with soapy water and a washcloth, then its easier to rinse all the soap off his skin. He has never cried for a bath since we brought him home from the hospital.

  • I bathed my baby once a day. It was a relaxing time to get him relaxed for bedtime.

  • I agree with dancer...when he gets older it will already be a routine and it does settle a new born down for bed....its just so tiring for them....and the lotion makes them smell...oooohhhhh so new born again!!!

  • 2-3 times/week. My little one hates a bath, so I try to stretch it as long as possible!
