  • We got slots a few years ago. It doesn't matter much to me, because I don't gamble. But the 600 bucks we got back from the state because of them was nice. There have been a rash of news items about people leaving their kids in cars while they go gamble "for a few minutes" and forgetting about them for much longer, but those people have SERIOUS gambling problems, that wouldn't be cured if the slots went away.

  • I really don't understand the idea of not around my kids. What they would see with slots machines is similar to what they see kids doing when they're playing arcade games. Putting money in a machine, and play a game.

  • Slot machines at racetracks? What state? Mine has casinos so that's a non-issue for me to vote on.

  • i'm in maryland right now and we are having this debate. They want to put slots at the mall. I don't agree with that. Put them at a race track or in thier own place but NOT where my kids are.

  • Here in the Lehigh Valley of PA, they just opened a Sands Casino with slot machines...you know who were the ones lined up and came in droves by charter buses to get in on opening day?! That's riiiiiight!! All of those senior citizens on "fixed incomes!!" They have no problem forking over their money on slot machines, but ask them to pay property taxes that fund the schools and emergency services, and the complaints never end!

  • Our state has a bunch of Casinos, all owned and operated by American Indians and they are really quite classy and fun. They have theaters and special shows and bands, stars, musical guests, etc. Whatever. Its okay with me.
