should you listen to the nurse or go straight to the doc?

So called the nurse for my little period issue, on again off again, very lite, now nothing. And she says let me know how it goes next month and we will go from there......this sounds normal...and call in if you go more than 7 days...huh ,what? I am now confused.....

  • If you feel you need to see the doc. absolutely get it checked out. Now maybe the nurse wanted to see if it happen again the next month.

  • Make an appointment to see the Doctor if you are concerned. He is the expert and she does not know your medical history, only what you are telling her in a quick phone conversation.

  • do you mean one period will be on and off again...or are you missing periods? is this normal for you? if not, when did things change?
i would not see a dr because of one odd period. if one period lasts more than 7 days, then maybe it is not your period and maybe you should see a dr.
stress can change your period, so can diet, weight gain and weight loss. birth control and other medications can change your cycle too.

  • As a nurse, "listen to the nurse", lol....but if you don't understand, still feel uncomfortable, etc, by all means, go see the doc. :)
