Do you allow your kids to have food or keep food in their rooms?

They are not suppose to have any food in their rooms in my home. But occasionally, since they are older now, I let them eat in their from time to time. My biggest thing is that it is a privilege to do so and so if I find any food, wrappers, containers, dishes or such left in their room then they will loose this privilege.

  • I didn't at all when they were younger, mine are 19 & 21 now and so they can eat in their rooms, but I still expect them to clean up and vacuum if necessary so that we don't get creatures in there!

  • when i was 16 i bought my self a mini-fridge with my own money so thats the only reason i kept food in my room, because my family was so large it was easy to loose out on the good stuff. But i like your plan, its a privilege not a right they have to earn it and if they abuse it then you should take it away.

  • DS is too young still, but I plan on keeping food out of his room. We don't eat in our room.

  • As long as they clean up any mess... I really don't care either way.
