Why do young teens text so much with their peers?

  • because when your a teenager, you identify more with your friends then you do with your family, so you just always want to be with or talking to your peers. you dont remember feeling like if you werent around your friends for a while, you were going to miss the most important thing ever?

  • Sometimes it's easier to text than to talk for me. Like if I'm on the run or somewhere that I cant hear the person on the other line, which happens a lot here in NYC especially on the street. Or if I need an answer really fast. I'm guessing it's the same, plus you can have multiple conversations at once.

  • It's how they communicate. My son NEVER calls anyone, only texts. It's the thing to do.
