2 Bumps

my LO has been constipated for 2 days now I think. His BM are "terd" like but still soft. Now this morning they were pellets and a little harder. He is 2 months old. His pediatrician told me to just keep giving him water and that would help. Do you all think a little mineral oil would hurt him if i mix it with some water? or can I give him a suppository? i'm gonna call his doc when they open but I thought I would ask some mommas on here too.

  • Ade got very constipated on a soy formula. I would give him some juice diluted with water maybe 1/4 juice or 1/2 juice. Definitely no suppositories unless okay-ed through doc.

  • I used some lukewarm water with a drop of honey. Works like a charm

  • I was told by my doctor to use about 3 to 4 drops of karo surup in the bottle, it worked every time

  • Dont Use Honey! Babies cant have honey till there almost 2. Theres a bacteria in it they can't have. I have always used a little juice to loosen them up.

  • No honey, no Karo. Both carry a risk of botulism poisoning. What is baby's diet? The stools have only been hard the one time? I would also advise against mineral oil.
