My five month old has been scooting lately and I think he will be crawling within the next month.

How old does it take to start crawling after they start scooting?

  • This has got to be a very proud and happy time for you, but they do go at their own pace but I bet it won't be long.....

  • It greatly depends on the child. With some children it takes a couple of days, others it takes a couple of months. My son just took off walking one day without even really crawling. My daughter scooted for about a month and then crawled for about a month, now she's walking.

  • Some kids never crawl after scooting. The important thing is he is mobile. Dont be surprised if he never does. My son started scooting at 5 months, didnt crawl until 10 months, walking at 11. This is a fun stage!
