Homemade costume or store bought?

Do you prefer a homemade costume or a store bought one? I'm not refering to all the little props like wigs, swords, etc. But the main costume.

  • I handmade 2 adorable kitty costumes for my niece and her friend and they are way cuter than any of the junk at the stores.
Cost me less than ten dollars to make them both BTW.

  • I've always bought one. So I would have to say bought.

  • Homemade that is sewn by someone who knows what they are doing!!! My mom always made our costumes, and they won several awards. She now makes my ds's and dd's. She is, as I type, finishing up on them right now!

  • And this is just my opinion, but store bought costumes like at Target and Walmart....you might as well not dress up because they look very bad. I can spot one a mile away!

  • I love homemade costumes but sometimes they do cost just as much as the store bought ones. It really depends on what your child wants to be and how much extra time you have on your hands.
