how long

hello to all i have question( yes its silly, but its the first time being a mom) my daughter went pumkin picking the other day with her school. and in school they made pumkin pancakes, and pumkin soup, which i missed out on, but anyway she came home with her pumkin painted, hair and eyes on it, how long can i keep the pumkin before it start going bad.

  • It will keep for quite awhile........I do not know exaclty. But it will get soft when it starts to go bad. Get some pictures!!

  • Usually a few days. But there are some things you can do to preserve it a little longer. I heard that spraying veg oil on the inside and out will help it last a little longer...if it is carved. If it not carved, it will last a lot longer.

  • It will keep for quite a while, as long as you don't carve it.

  • Do you live in a cold climate. We were always able to keep them on our porch until after Thanksgiving in upstate New York. Here in Virginia we can too as long as we do not have anymore heat waves.

  • well i keep my childern's pumpkins for a couple weeks after halloween is over. but i take some pictures. so wait s couple weeks take some pictures and then trash it if you want.

  • We keeps ours till they get all soft and mushy!!

  • We've kept ours well into the end of November, sometimes into December (we lived in a cold climate).  If they aren't carved they'll keep for a long time.  My 2nd grader brought a little one home from school today.  It's on our counter now and will probably stay there for a couple weeks.
