MY BABY WAS ADMIT IN HOSP FOR PNEUMONIA IN JULY ANd has been taking breathing treatments 2x day in morn & night. 2 days ago woke with runny nose took to ped. said chest and ears were clear no fever so gave her her shots. that evening she was really coughing and would like gag . took back to dr. on thurs. said to give albuterol treat. every 6 hrs. and suction nose and use humidifier. today was coughing and choking so i suctioned her mouth not sure if was just slobber or Flem. this is my 3rd baby but with first 2 i lived with my husband workes graveyard... i PANIC when she coughs and gags/ choking.

  • Just make sure baby postion upright position ...not flat ..especially if nose is runny.....keep giving treatments when its needed...its hard to tell if gaging ...just cough to clear her throat.....dont panic ..u just being alert more because they cant tell u with words whats wrong...never go with 2nd thoughts .....if u feel she need to go to doctore keep taking her....until ur comfortable i understand whats wrong. Write things down she do when u hold her or put her a certain way. every child is different ..every new baby makes u feel lost even if u already have kids .see if there classes for asthma baby her age help u adjust better.

  • thank you so very much..i guess i just need to relax a little..but i can't lol seriously. she's so restless..she wants to be held and i am i have been all night night before last. last night but best she slept on her boppy pillow. we both finally got some rest. tonight so far is another rough one again. it don't help having to be in and out all day errands and my others kids ready for Halloween. thanks again
