  • Exactly Baptist is just a sect within Christianity. Christianity is broken down into many different sects Catholicism, Baptist, Episcopalian, Lutheran and I am sure nine million other ones.

  • Baptists are Christians...but not all Christians are Baptists. so there are differences between Baptists and other denoms of Christianity, but i'd have to know what other denomination you are comparing Baptists to.

  • Baptist is just another denomination of Christianity. And even that can be broken down to other branches of Baptists.

  • Christian means Christ-like and identifies us with Christ. Baptist is the name that people use to identify themselves with a church. so yes there is a difference.
If your comparing christian churches with Baptist churches there is also a difference. mainly in beliefs.

  • Baptist are Christians. They are one of the hundreds upon hundreds of Christian denominations.

  • Yes, there is a difference... A Christian is simply someone who has accepted Jesus Christ into their heart as their personal Lord & Savior & strives to live for Him by following the Bible in their everyday life. It doesn't matter what denomination a person is. Just because someone goes to a Baptist church or any denomination of church, that doesn't make them a Christian. They have to put their trust & faith in Jesus Christ & daily follow the teachings of the Holy Bible. The Baptist denomination is a Bible believing & teaching denomination, however, becoming a Christian is a personal decision a person makes apart from what church they attend. Someone can be a Baptist church member & still not be a Christian if they haven't made the decision to accept Christ.
