my dog is in labor i need help

do i need to take the puppies out of the sacks and cu the cord?

  • generally no, you need to do Nothing. If you see a pup that mom has not taken care of, you need to break the amniotic sac but do not mess with the cords.
    most importantly, do not make momma dog a spectacle. She needs quite and low light/darkness. Loud noises and bright lights can make momma dogs labor stall.

  • you need to leave her be. Watch and if it seems she is not responding to their needs, then step in, but more like watch and be amazed at how her instincts kick!! congrats!!
