  • My kids hate brussel sprouts, but hubby and I like them so I make them. I don't make the kids eat anything they don't want.

  • I don't make my kids eat something they don't like but I do make them try everything I make. My son hates Sweet potatoes he gags when I have had him try them so now when I make them I don't give him any instead I'll give him extra veggies (which he LOVES) or fruit. That's the only food I can think of that is disliked by someone in my house. (I don't cook foods I don't like...lima beans)

  • I never made my kids eat foods they did not like. But if I cooked dinner and they refused to eat everything on their plate, they did not get seconds or desert if there was any desert.

  • We use the 3 bite rule. You must try 3 bites of what is on your plate; if you don't like it, you get peanut butter and honey on whole grain toast with a kiwi or apple. Even my husband is expected to follow the rule

  • My son is the king of picky eaters and it would not make any sense to feed him foods he not going to like, why set myself up for a power struggle? I just let him pick out foods at the grocery store that he will eat and if it is junk food I will insist on something healthy. He picks out his favorite cereals, yogurt, chewy bars, the type of apples he feels like eating that week, he will pick out fresh cut up fruit salad ...If he wants chocolate pop tarts I tell him he can have them the day he eats veggies, so he decides he doesn't want them.
It is not a matter of what he eats in a day but overall in a week...that is what really counts

  • I don't make ANYONE eat anything they don't like. My son doesn't like jello, corn, cooked carrots or bell peppers, seafood, LOTS of stuff. I would NEVER force a child to eat something they don't like. Just like I won't eat something that I don't like.
