shoes for 10 month old

my daughter hates wearing shoes with hard soles. I was talking to a lady who recommended a brand that is best to start with and the soles were leather but I can't find them anywhere and I forgot the brand. Any thoughts or suggestions?

  • Any soft soled shoe will be fine, they should bend every which way. Hard soled shoes will actually impede walking. We got some today for our almost 10 month old from babies r us, they are Koala Kids brand.

  • Kids do not need to learn how to walk with shoes on. Let her learn to walk with no shoes.

  • Target carries a knock-off on the name brand soft-soled shoes, and they are a lot cheaper, too.

  • I'm sure she suggested Robeeze. They are soft leather. They are sold at Stride Rite. But she doesn't need shoes until she is walking outside. Just let her wear socks for now. Why spend $25 when there is no need?

  • We hardly put my son in shoes at all his first year, so he could learn to walk naturally. That said, we had a few pairs of shoes that we used when he was an older baby (especially for portraits or walking outside). Pediped is a great brand for babies and toddlers because they have a soft, flexible sole. It's very close to how their feet will move when they are walking barefoot. Now that my son is a toddler we usually buy a nice pair of everyday tennis shoes from somewhere like Stride Rite or Pediped and a couple cheaper pairs of shoes (like sandals) at places like Target or Toys R Us.
