  • That probably depends on how much room you and if you can afford the vet bills etc

  • When you can walk into a home and smell nothing but the animals. My mom's house is like that. She has 2 dogs and 2 cats. While she covers the furniture, when you take the covers off, it still smells like dog.
I mean when someone has a baby, the furniture doesn't smell like baby poop.

  • Probably when you can no longer afford to properly take care of them, or you cant walk into the house without smelling animal. I have 2 dogs, 4 cats, a fish tank (10 gallons with some guppies) and a guinea pig.

  • If you can't take care of them - clean them, feed them, vet them and clean your home.

  • For me just one is too much. Don't want them , don't need them and I fear the day my dd will drag a "lost" kitty into the house. "Buy mommy, it's lost. it belongs to nobody. Can i keep it? Pleeeeaaaase!" lol

Answer by BeachMom81 at 6:46 PM on Oct. 30, 2010

  • One is enough for me.

  • I think it really depends on the family and how responsible they are. We currently have 2 small dogs, a hamster and a fish... They were fine before, but we are adopting a special needs little girl and I'm afraid they are going to be too much when she comes home in a couple of weeks...
