  • I think it is easier as a kid, there is not too much expectation when you are young, but when you are an adults rules change.

  • I am sure you can make friend even as an adult, I have.

  • I think it is. Not only are there different expectations but there are also different demands on our time. We have less of ourselves available to invest because we're often spread so thin!

  • what makes it harder, to me anyways, is sometimes you meet someone you like, but their spouse is a jackass, or they start doing the "oh my house is ALWAYS clean, my kids would NEVER do that, my husband lets me do EVERYTHING I want blablablabla" and you start to feel like you can't share your thoughts or feelings anymore. been there one to many times

  • Of course. When you are a kid you don't have all the issues and drama you do as an adult.

  • nope.

I think I have a better sense of who I am and what I want from a friendship. I also am able to make calls, go places, and make plans that I couldnt when I was younger.

I think being a parent... specially as stay at home parent... has also made it sooo much easier because Im ALWAYS around other mothers. We have so much in common that it is easy to strike up a conversation with a stranger and get to know someone new.
