at what age did your baby first say dada or mama?

  • Both my boys said mama around five months, tho I believe it was just a lucky sound, lol. They both said mama and knew what it meant at about 8 months and dada was shortly after. My youngest is ten months and says three words mama, dada and baba (brother) Its normal for their first few words to be the repetitive type. My oldest first non-double word was ball I believe. At 11 months or just after, he also said 'who me' and 'hi' by one year.
