  • We never bought Vit D Milk... They had 2% from the time they started drinking milk, which was somewhere around 18 months or 2 years depending on the kid.

  • 3 for mine, because he's a skinny little guy, thought he could use an extra year of whole milk.

  • Pretty much any nurse/doc will tell you to give the child Vitamin D until they are 2 to help with brain development and then say switch to 2%. My daughter drinks 1% though.

  • My kids nursed until they no longer needed any mammal's milk... human or otherwise. Neither of them ever took up eating milk, really, although they both like yogurt and cheese and butter and cream, from any of the animals (sheep, yak, goat, cow...)

  • We switched my son at 14 months because whole milk made him terribly constipated.... and to 1% when he turned 2.

  • My daughter went from breastmilk to water. She is a baby human, not a baby cow.

  • All my kids still drink whole milk. They are not at risk of being overweight so, I don't see a problem. They are 8, 6, 5, 4 and 20 months.

  • Kids should have whole milk until they are at least 2 yrs old because they need the fat in the milk after that they really don't need all that fat so you can go to 2 percent.
