What do you think about a fundamental Christian revival?

Good? Bad? Necessary? Unnecessary?

  • sofiashelley - every Muslim I've ever met has been trustworthy, honest, caring and non-violent, too. On the other hand, even Wikipedia has a whole section dedicated to fundamentalist Christian terrorism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_terrorism.

  • Seeing as I consider myself a fundamentalist Christian I find the responses humorous!! :D And sad. Sad because I think some can give the wrong impression of a fundamentalist Christian.

  • Kerp1960 - I read the link and a couple of things jumped out at me.

Fundamentalist Christians are "opposed the accommodation of Christian doctrine to modern scientific theory and philosophy"

"...the only Scriptures addressed specifically to Christians were the gospel of John, Acts, and the Epistles and Book of Revelation. Their moral code is that of the most brutal sections of the Old Testament and the Ten Commandments. One will hear "born again" (John) endlessly but little relevance is paid at all to the other Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke that contain the core of Jesus' most important moral teachings."

Finally, "It should also be noted that these cult/splinter churches all hold Catholics and mainline Protestant churches as "spirits of the Antichrist." (Pat Robertson)"

As a scientist and a Catholic, I find these revivals distrubing.
