Because I had group b strep..

with my first pregnancy will I have it with this one???

  • I've had it every time. they say it doesn't matter if you get treated for it (unless in labor to protect baby) bc it will grow back quickly...???

  • Group b strep is ALWAYS around in some women. It's a part of our normal gut flora. What makes it an infection is when it grows bigger than the other bacteria and "takes over". You can take pro-biotics to help balance the bacteria and that can prevent infection.

  • Take the test and see.
    You can test throughout different (or the same !) pregnancy and get different results~

  • Group B strep is a natural part of your body when you are positive it just means that you have a high colonization at that time you can be positive today and negative tomorrow, that is why in most other countries they do not test for it because it comes and goes and treatment is not a truly necessary thing. You can treat it with probiotics which you get in the vitamin section and vaginally inset garlic as well.
