is this normal? shouldi got to the E.R.?

okay so ive been reading that babys have their good days and their bad days, so some days they move more often than others...yesterday my baby wasnt too active as she normally is, and this morning ive been trying to wake her up by talking to her and massaging my belly and nothing...i maybe felt a kick or two in the past 40 minutes. im very worried so idk if i should go to the E.R. or wait it out for the rest of the day and see how she responds...i just wish the E.R. wouldnt cost so much..any suggestions or opinions?

  • Do a kick-count. Drink OJ or some other sugary juice. Lay down for 30-60 minutes. If still nothing, call your midwife or doctor and get their advice about whether you should go to the hospital. Or call now, but that's the advice I got when I called once.

  • Call your OB. You don't have to go to the ER at this point. Your OB will give you specific directions for a kick count and how many you should be looking for.

There is no need to go the ER at this point. Just get in touch with your doctor and follow their instructions. They'll let you know when you should go to the ER, but they should also be able to have you into the office and put on a monitor there rather than going to the ER as well.
