What would be your advice to a newly wed couple?

Mine would be to always make time for each other, even if it's only cuddling up to watch TV for an hour. Alone time is so important in a healthy relationship.

  • Communication is key to any relationship. The more open the communication lines the easier things will be.
As well, nothing is going to stay the same as when you were first married. People change as they get older and enviornments change around them. That means that you'll both have to adjust WITH one another. The more you resist that things are changing and stop being creative, the faster things will fall.

    One More ...

Never go into a marriage saying "I can always divorce him". That is a sure fire way you WILL divorce each other. A marriage should be a wanted commitment through everything. If you already have a mindset that it'll fail, it will fail.

  • Don't sweat the small stuff, who cares if he leaves his socks on the floor or leaves the seat up.

  • It is not going to be all rainbows and roses. There will good times and bad times. You both will do things that are going to drive the other insane, but don't let it get to you. Remember ... COMMUNICATION is absolutely VITAL. Most of all, love each other and don't try to change the other.
