  • Ooh... be patient. That drooling could go on, and on, and on!
My babe started drooling at 2 mos., and didn't get teeth 'til 7! She's one now, and has just four.
Some say, the longer they wait, the better they'll be when they come in! (Maybe not, but can't hurt to look at it that way!) :)

  • There is no real average. Some kids are born with a tooth or two, some turn one without any teeth.
He could drool like this for months or that pesky tooth could break through tomorrow.

  • My nephew was teething/drooling/chewing on everything at about 2 mos.... his first two started to peak through at four mos.... He's five months old now and they're all the way out.... My sister is having a little trouble with the breastfeeding.... (lol) Like everybody says it varies from child to child.

  • My son started drooling like crazy when he was about 4 months old and didn't get his first tooth until he was 11 months old. He had to wear bibs pretty much non-stop until he was about 10 months old because he drooled so much! I had always heard that babies drool when they're teething, but I didn't find that to be the case with my baby. Now that he's actually teething (still only 2 teeth, though), he hardly drools anymore.

  • I have heard that they get their salivary glands at that age. My daughter started drooling and chewing on stuff at four months she didn't get one until 6 months.
