is it normal to have a 2lb baby at 23 wks or am i further along than that

  • It's a little heavier than "normal" but not out of the realm of possibilities for a fetus that age.

  • I would say probably a little heavier my DS was 1lb 3oz's at 23 weeks.

  • It is very hard to tell by ultrasound. My first son was thought to be no bigger than 7lbs during delivery, well he was 9lbs! The doctors were shocked. I had my 2nd son at 18wks and he weighed 4.4ozs, they thought he was closer to 8ozs from ultrasound.

  • I should have put that my DS was born at 23 weeks. And yes the measurements from the ultrasound can be off. My first son was born at 33 weeks and the doctors thought he would be around 5lbs at birth but only weighted 3lbs 11oz's.

  • its' a little big for 23 wks, I remember i 'm 26wks when the baby is 2lbs and I have gestational diabete. You might wanto check with your ob, maybe measure wrong?
