Trying to make a hanging pod *photography prop*

Just bought a pattern online, and it says materials for the yarn required are :

400 g - 4 Worsted weight yarn

That is ALL it says. How do I tell how much yard I actually need? And would this link below work for the yarn?

  • It says "400g" and your link says that the solid yarn comes in a "400g" ball. So, yes.

  • Thank you. Still need to know how much yarn I need, and how do I tell how much yarn I need? Is that what the other 4 is for? Sorry, I am completely new to crocheting. Thank you.

  • The four is the weight(strength) of the yard and what you found is 4. According to the 400g, that one ball may be all you need. If you need more, you can get more from the same dye lot and add it in and keep going.

  • I also need a tapestry needle. How do I know which one is right for my project? There's 120 results and various sizes!

  • I have never used a tapestry needle. LOL I used crochet hooks only. And your yarn calls for a H 8/5 mm hook.

  • I tried to read through the yarn details, but I have NO idea what I am looking for. This is merely for an experimental/bored out of my mind learning process. =)

Is knitting needle the same as tapestry needle?

I have the 19mm hook, but I guess there are other things I need too.

  • I don't think knitting and tapestry are the same at all. If you are crocheting, then all you need is a crochet hook and yarn. LOL

  • Just spoke with the lady I purchased the pattern from. She's telling me I need MORE yarn. Eeks.

I also need these items per her recipe:

    MATERIALS
    19 mm hook
    Tapestry Needle
    Stitch Markers
    400 g - 4 Worsted weight yarn
