If you have an Ultrasound done and the tech says you are showing extra fluid, what would that mean??

  • Agreed. If your doc was concerned, they'd be up front with you on it. I thought with my ultrasounds they checked to see how much fluid was behind the neck and how much was in between the chin & breastbone, around 20 weeks, I think? It's supposed to show signs of a genetic defect, I think. But if in general you have extra fluid, I don't think that's a bad thing. Too little would be something to worry about, I'm sure!

  • That you have extra fluid. If your Dr is concerned he/she will talk to you about it. I have always carried extra with all my kids. Some people just carry extra.
