  • i dunno who they were but the Bible only mentions shepherds coming the night Jesus was born and it never says how many shepherds there were. the Bible says in Matthew 2 that after Jesus was born the Magi visited Herod and THEN started their journey to Bethlehem to see Jesus.

im no Biblical literalist...but where are you ppl getting the names of the wise men from? i cant find that anywhere in the Bible, is it in the Apocrypha or something?

  • dancer - no, the sheep did not come with the wise men. The angel came to the shepherds who were "keeping their flock by night" and told them about baby Jesus, so they went to visit. The wise men followed a star that appeared, so it took them much longer to get there since they traveled a great distance.

  • Nobody came to see Jesus on the night of his birth. The wise men came several years after his birth - and there's no proof that there were three of them, they brought three gifts which is why they are usually represented by three.

Although, they came later. And not necessarily as three and not really like it is imagined.
