Does anyone know the meaning of Valntae?

It's my bf's middle name & it's been passed down many generations in his family but I can't find its meaning. If I have a boy, I don't want to give him a name with no meaning but I also don't want to disrespect his family by not giving him the name. Maybe I'll just hope for a girl...lol
