As a conservative, do you consider Joe Manchin a DINO or an Independent or something else?

Basically, he won a Democratic Senate seat running ads with conservative ideas and promises but saying he was Independent. How do you think he will throw his votes for the time that he serves, which in WV and his 66% approval rating might be another lifetime like Byrd.

  • He's a liberal that was forced to act like a conservative to win an election as a dem in a very Republican year. A typical flip flopper to win an election...a politician.

  • Manchin has done many good things for our state. I voted for him for Senate and very happy to see he won. He is really a conservative Democrat. Yes they do exist. We have weathered the recession quite well. We do have a unemployment rate of 8.3 % right now but most of that is coal jobs leaving the state.

  • His speeches and 'stances' are more conservative that liberal. Example, he claims he is firmly against cap and trade. We will see what happens when they vote. It will be interesting to see how MANY 'D's" vote with Nancy no longer holding (strong arming) the gavel..
