What do you view as the "enemy" of our society?

In otherwords, what do you see as the major contributing factor to the supposed downfall of our society? Or do you not see a downfall or consider anything an "enemy", and it is just the nature of our society. (in terms of things going "wrong")

  • Actually, I believe organized religion is one of the biggest enemies of our society... And those acting under the guise of religion and "family values".

  • To a Christian, the enemy is Satan. He's not worth being called by name, so we just refer to him as what he is, the enemy. He's God's enemy, he is the father of lies, every word out of his mouth is a lie. His only desire is to steal, kill, and destroy, and he'll use anyone and anything to do that. He'll twist and pervert the Bible to mean the exact opposite of what God means, nothing is out of reason for him. He also knows the end of the Bible. He knows in the end he LOSES, and WE WIN! He doesn't want to go down by himself, so he'll do what he has to to take as many with him as he can. He knows once a person is saved, he can no longer have their soul. So, he tries to steal the next best thing to him, our Testimony. For all he can do, though, he can only do it by us letting him. He has no power other than what we as humans let him have.

  • Ignorance and poor education.

Ignorance is usually behind issues like: racism, bigotry, predjuidice, xenophobia, isolationism.

Poor education contributes to ignorance. Also, a poorly educated populous can not progress a nation, either economically or socially.

I personally feel that many of the issues that we have in this country today are due to those 2 things in many ways.

  • No.. Not non secular education.

A more rounded education. Education that does include other world views of history, history of other countries and cultures and their influence on America not just America's influence on others, the strides and accomplishments of other countries not just America's, educating in regards to how others in this world live/their cultures/what they also bring to the world table, more in depth in regards to world languages and understanding of peoples around the world.

Many of the issues that some in this country that boil down to ignorance, stem from some not really knowing anything about or understanding anything about other people/cultures/living-lives in other parts of the world.

We live in such a globally intertwined society/world now. The populace needs to be educated in regards to the "world" in order to survive much less progress and thrive in this new globle society we helped build
