Ouch! Stepped on a sliver of glass D:

We had a large glass bottle break today and I thought I swept it all up, but I guess I didn't because I stepped on a sliver.

It is on the heel where I have a callous, so the skin is not malleable for me to get the glass out. I cannot grab it with the tweezers, heck I can't even see it at all. It is just a little tiny piece and only hurts if I step wrong in my shoes.

I was just going to leave it until it festers and let it come out then, but my husband says that is dumb and I should keep working at getting it out. My thought is there is no real way to get it out at this point because I can not see it and really can't feel it.

What would you do? It is totally not worth a trip to the doctor.

  • Try rubbing white glue over the area where the glass is and letting it dry. When you pull it out, it may pull out the glass as well.

  • Wrap raw bacon slices around it.. somehow it pulls the glass out.

  • raw bacon?? wow. lol
i have heard that putting a piece of duct tape over a sliver works, so it might work for glass as well. it think you are supposed to leave it for a couple of days though. please don't let it go too long though, you don't want to get an infection.
