Did your water break naturally or did the doctor break it??

  • Mine broke by itself in the Hospital. The nurse said that the Dr. will be in shortly to break it and them BAM it broke and gushed right then. The nurse cracked up.

  • Mine broke naturally.... Contractions started shortly afterward.

  • First one it broke on its own, after 28 hours of labor and 5 cm. 2nd they broke it for me at 4cm dialated, only 4 hours of labor... Wish they would of broke it the first time lol DD flew out a few hours later :)

  • only once did the OB break my water, and it was during labor. The other 5 times, it broke on it's own.

  • Both times, my water broke before my contractions started.

  • when i was pregnant with my oldest daughter my doctor had to break my water! And when my son was born they had to break my water again! It all depends on the out come! everyones pregnacy is different!

  • Mine was broken all three times in the hospital by the doctor/midwife. The last time they didn't break it until the last minute and his head blocked the water from coming out, so the midwife tried to push his head back up so the water could come out. OUCH! And it didn't work. He came out head to toe with one big gush of water. She had to change her clothes it was such a big splash.

    I learned with my first that the bag of water decreases the pains of the contractions. So I made sure to tell them that I didn't want it broken early.
