Silicone baking cups. Are you a fan?

I just started using them and LOVE them! I have only used them to bake corn muffins, but am thinking about buying large ones and making individual quiches in them.

What do you think about them?

  • I love them.....so easy to remove muffins and cupcakes or even cakes from the pan. They're a bit of a pain to clean if you don't grease them well enough, but I definitely have had cakes turn out better because I didn't have to struggle to remove them from the pan.

  • I formerly taught pastry in Culinary School They really don't perform well. They don't brown well, and cakes are sometimes gummy. There have also been some concerns raised, though not proven yet, about their long-term use. You're better off staying with conventional bakewear.
