Have you heard the horrible news about the boy shot and killed

while trick or treating? Also two members of his family were shot-- in SC. I posted a journal about this with a poll, but will this change how you feel about going to strangers homes? NO BASHING IS MEANT OR WANTED, I'm just curious moms reactions.;_ylt=Aj3VjM_yXiVnPDMh0_t3dVnLLJ94

  • Gee thats sad but this doesn't even say what really happened. . We didn't have but a hndful of kids last night. Seems Halloween is just not what it used to be. Probably for just this reason. People are nuts.

  • I know around here alot of parents take their children to the mall to do trick or treating because it is a controlled environment. It is sad that trick or treating isn't like it use to be back in the 80's and early 90's.

  • It is sick how our society has changed so much since I was a child.

  • Trick or treating has been an unsafe activity for years but parents still do it. I don't understand why. Towns should plan Halloween parties with each family donating the candy they would have given out to trick or treaters.

  • i live in sc but i haven't heard about this yet, this is awful.

  • This is a random incident, it doesn't make Trick Or Treating into a life threatening ordeal across the board. The fact that the child was trick or treating is less significant than the fact that the person who shot him evidently doesn't even live in the house.

  • This seems to be a case of the random whacked out mental case shooting at unknown innocent children and their father coming to the door to trick-or-treat. This is so sad and the fact that he did it on halloween when the odds were very high that he would kill a child is horrifying. The news so far doesn't have much information on what he was doing at the house where the shootings occurred, (seems it wasn't where he was living), if illegal drugs or alcohol were involved, or what his motive? was, if he had one.
