  • Add some Epsom salt to the hot bath water and soak for a while - it will help shrink the hemorrhoid. You can also get the medicated pads to help with wiping (Tucks or Preparation H are both good).

  • you need to get the swelling down, if you dont want to get the cream try some ice.......and add some fiber to your diet to help with bm's, you may want to consider a stool softener too.....

  • ok..hot bath..ice? which?
here's the thing: i DO have tons of fiber..maybe too much?? i had my gallbladder removed in the summer, and since then, i have very loose BMs..at least 2-3x/wk.
i've never had a hemorrhoid before.

  • I always used the suppositories when I got them after my hysterectomy and sat in a warm bath

  • Google "Sitz Bath" - I remember after my first baby was born the nurse told me to use one to help heal the hemorrhoid and episiotomy.

  • When I was pregnant at the end I had a severe hemmoroid and my OBGYN prescribed a cream that worked fantastic, much better than Preparation H. If you can't get it then get the Preperation H suppositories. Hope you feel better, I know how much pain it can be. P.S. cut down on the fiber & eat more carbs. I had my gallbladder removed too (3 years ago) and your system will regulate soon.
