hCG levels

My first hCG level was only 882. I'm not sure how pregnant I am (I could be anywhere from 4-5 weeks). The nurse said this was sort of low, something you would see when you're only 2-3 weeks pregnant. My 2nd hCG level, done 48 hours later, was 1595. Not quite doubled, but good enough, I guess, but still low.

Has anyone else had low levels and had a healthy baby? I'm really nervous about this.

  • I don't know what my hCG levels were, but I didn't even get a positive test with my son until I was already 2 weeks late, and even then the line was still light. If you're very worried, talk to your OB. I've heard they have hCG shots that can help get your levels to the desired/normal amount (though I didn't use them). My son was healthy as ever when he was born, though smaller than I had anticipated (he was 6 lbs. 10 oz., all the kids in my generation of my family were 8-9 lbs.), and he grew fast! I nursed him and he doubled his birth weight in 2 months. Good luck!
