You will be fined if you don't have a health care policy. It is part of the bill that they passed and that Obama signed. The IRS will make sure that you have paid for a policy (proof will be part of your tax returns every year). If you don't purchase a policy they will fine you. If you willfully refuse to pay, they can put you in jail. And since it is signed, it IS a law until and IF they can repeal it.

I believe they aren't writing new policies because the guidelines have not yet been defined and they don't want to be in violation of the law. If our government wasn't in such a damned hurry to pass something that wasn't complete we wouldn't have problems like this. If you really need to point a finger, point it at Kathleen Sebelius for slacking off on her job. The insurance companies are just doing what they are told to do. Fabulous reform, isn't it? Your government working hard hardly working for your money.
