Do I have to do something special to make Lima Beans the right way?

The darn things have no instructions on how to cook them on the bag!

NO, not EVERYONE is born knowing how to do this mess! lol

I tried to make them and they ended up watery and didn't look thick like my moms always do.

How in the HECK do I make Lima Beans?!

  • Your mom probably made a thickening agent for them. There are a couple of ways to do that. One is to use a little flour whisked into some cold water and then stir that mixture into your beans. This one is a little tricky and often will turn out lumpy. The other way is to use some cornstarch and some cold water and stir it into your beans. This is what I use. My mom always used the flour. Add it a little at a time, because you don't want it to get too thick. You can always add more, but you can't take it out once you've put it in!!

  • You could drain the beans from the water after you cook them and then add some butter, salt, and pepper. That's all that hubby does when he makes them.
