  • Well, if they all went bankrupt and closed up,just think of all the thousands of dealerships all over the USA would also close and THE PLANTS where the cars are assembled and ...then, guess what....millions of empoyees would have no jobs with any of the BigThree. It would have been a disaster.

  • The Big Three weren't bailed out. Ford didn't take any money. Only Chrysler and General Motors did.

  • Yes....all of the bailout money and the TARP funds are being paid back.....but that is sonething that the anti-Obama and anti-Democrat posters want to ignore.

  • GM was able to repay the money by drawing down on a line of credit that it had from TARP! In other words, GM took funds still available to it through TARP and used those funds to repay the loan it received from the government. Of course, it now owes $4.7 billion on its line of credit with TARP. So it didn't really pay back!

  • In the Cars for Clunkers, the cars that were turned in were crushed. The majority of those cars were in good condition, but were crushed. So, a good used car that could have been purchased for a reasonable price was destroyed.

  • I was against all the bailouts. That's not how Capitalism is supposed to work. Comapny can't cut it, they fall and let one who can move up.
