What is the exchange ratio...

in recipes if you want to replace oil with applesauce or prunes?

  • Use half the recommended amount for prunes. So if the recipe calls for 1/2 c oil use 1/4 cup prunes.
    For applesauce use equal amounts.

  • I always use equal amounts of either one. Most of the time I replace half the oil and use half oil- since canola oil has a lot of good fats.
