  • Well I guess it all took time. They had lots of kids, if you read the Bible you will find out that lots of them grow to be really really old, like 600 years and more.

    something about the different languages
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

  • 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children built. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

  • The story is found in Genesis 11:1-9

  • Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image,in the image of God created he him;MALE AND FEMALE created he THEM.
Genesis 2:7 Describes the forming of Adam. Then goes on to describe the whole Eden and Eve thing.
These are two separate events going on here between the two chapters. These first humans may have been around for thousands of years before Adam was made.

God made humans, both male and female,BEFORE Adam and Eve.Adam and Eve were a special people created.Set apart from the first humans.I believe the races were created when these first humans were. There were other people before Adam and it clears up a lot of confusion about the Bible.Like, where did Cain get his wife. There is no way all the races came from just two humans.

  • God separated everyone into different races and languages when Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden if I remember correctly.

Answer by LiLJeni at 1:48 PM on Nov. 6, 2010

  • ive always been told that God did create other ppl after Adam and Eve got kicked outta the Garden but that its not listed in the Bible cause its not a part of A&E's time line.

ive also been told that the reason most humans dont live to be as old as the first generations in the Bible is b/c of the inbreeding.

it really depends on what you want to believe.

  • We Are The Others

Just something else to consider while you think about it all.

  • When I read Genesis, I take it to mean that there were no humans before Adam and Eve were created. I think that there must have been what we would call inbreeding for the earth to be populated. The different "races" can be explained by genetic adaptations, such as people who migrated to places further from the equator developing lighter skin. Scientists have shown that the first woman originated somewhere in Africa, and through mitochondrial DNA they've shown that this first woman was the ancestor of all people. There had to be a first man, too - Adam and Eve.

  • My understanding is that God created man and woman first, then created Eden and placed Adam and Eve there. Two entirely separate events during the Creation story.

Answer by SpiritedWitch at 11:04 PM on Nov. 6, 2010

  • God could have made spouses for Adam and Eve's kids, it doesn't say how they procreated. Or, God could have made many men and women, but only followed Adam's bloodline through the Bible. There are many different ways it could have gone.
