  • Universal beliefs are never a good idea because you are forcing something on people. I believe in freedom of beliefs and religion.

  • No. Everyone needs to follow their own path. The thing is they also need to allow others to follow their own paths without trying to convert them or damning them to some imaginary hell. It's called tolerance.

  • No. Religion is just one ideal or vehicle of many that people manipulate and abuse for their own selfish reasons. Without it those selfish reasons and motivations would be acted out through other vehicles or means.

We can't blame religion for all of the bad. To do so ignores personal responsibility just as much as crediting everything to God does. Its not religion's fault that things happen, that people do things, since religion is just an ideal. Its the people who make up the "force" of religion - religion isn't a "force" in itself. So it is the people who should be accountable for what they do in the name of religion, and their true motivations should be credited, not the faith they bastardize or manipulate.

Also, religion inspires much good, which really t should, as it is an ideal. So ideally, what we should see from religion should be these positive, idealistic things, as that is what it is meant to encourage/cultivate.

  • no. it just means that the ppl who use religion in a negative way would have to find some other way to use a good thing for bad purposes. while all the ppl who use religion appropriately would be without their spiritual outlet.
