Christmas is on the way!! How much to you spend on average per child?

just wanted to bounce this Q of you and see if I really am wayyyy over the top, like my husband says I'am.

  • Mine is the only child, only grandchild, ect... so while I'll spend about $100 TOTAL, she'll get $500 or more worth of junk. I urge family to get gift cards and clothes, things she needs, but not more toys!! They end up in the trash in a few days.

  • This year about 60-75 a kid. Normally it would be 125-150. We are a little strapped this year.

  • We have an only child, and we have only spent maybe $40 on him so far... Probably won't spend 50-60 total for christmas this year. Last year we went all out and spent just over 100, but we also got a train table last year for that amount. This year I bought my DH plane tickets to see his family, so I'm having to cut corners on the rest of the spending, and our son doesn't really need anything this year either - besides a few jeans, and we've gotten a few toy/games so far...

  • DD is my only child, only grand child...I will personally spend about $700 on her. She will get about another $500-$600 worth of stuff from various family members
