Obama National Security Force?

Ok, so what is an Obama National Security Force and why do we need one? I just saw a clip of him promoting it at one of his campaign rallies ( Why do we need this when we already have police? Anybody have a good explanation of what it is is and how we are going to afford it?

  • We do not need one, the only security force Obama needs is the Secret Service. Starting a National Security Force is the gateway to overthrowing a government. See Fidel Castro or Saddam Hussein in your dictionary

  • Um... there already is an agency for these issues. Originally it was the FBI, and in more recent years, it's divided into several sects that make up Homeland Security. This proposal of Obama's will likely be an add-on or evolution of this existing agency, possibly with a new name.

Things get blown way out of proportion in this election season.

  • He didn't say add on... but a new "civilian" national security force... ummm 1) that's a police state and 2) they do have that in other countries... communist ones.

  • Hi ! ... Found the speech in which Obama mentioned it: July 2008. "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." (Wild applause and whistles and cheers from the crowd.)
