Did you have a Barbie growing up?

I had a couple of them, but my sister had a lot more. She had the car and the house; I had just the Barbie.

  • I cut their hair off, dressed them as street walkers, had them dating GIJoe (the big ones, like from the 50s/60s) ... eventually took model car paint and painted them. I hated Barbie.

  • Lots of them... And the cars and the house... But mostly I played with GI Joes...

  • Yes. If only I still had them all. Between my cousin and I we probably had everyone made between 1970-1975. We literally had boxes. My grandmother warned us to hold onto all of them, but we didn't, we sold them at a garage sale. We had the cars, houses, a swimming pool. Fun times. Damn I hated Barbie. I still can't understand how that little plastic person has so much stuff!

  • I know I had a couple that people gave me as birthday presents, but I wasn't interested in them and didn't play with them. Dolls are so boring!

  • No and I remember feeling deprived. My 2 closest cousins had them and I got to play with theirs (when they let me).

  • I had a basketfull of Barbies, plus the big pink dream house with the elevator outside. I loved that thing! My parents bought it for me because they knew that I would actually play with it. Man, those Barbies ended up raggedy.

  • I had tons of them! I don't think I quit playing with Barbie until I was kissing boys then I was embarassed about them so I gave them away.
